For most homes, no. The city purges residential building records on a rolling basis and stores nothing electronically. If your home was built before 2017, your plans are almost certainly gone. That's why homeowners need a new scan before pulling a remodel permit.

For a homeowner permit, the city requires PDF versions of your current and proposed floor plans. Voltera Designs provides the current condition scan — an accurate record of your existing space. If your project also needs proposed plans showing the planned changes, we can help with that too.

Most scans take 30–40 minutes on location, plus drive time. Floor plans are delivered within 5 business days of the scan appointment.

We walk you through the city submission process — what to bring, where to go, what to expect. We stay available when the city responds with questions or requests for corrections. You submit as the homeowner; we guide the process.

No. Scan and design services are available whether or not you have a contractor. If you need one, we work with a vetted subcontractor partner and can manage that relationship on your behalf.

Yes. We deliver a complete design package — every product specified, sourced, and linked — that your contractor can execute directly. You don't need to use our subcontractor to use our design services.

Interior Design covers the build — every structural and finish decision for your remodel: flooring, tile, countertops, cabinetry, fixtures, lighting, paint. Interior Decorating covers the styling layer after construction is done: furniture, rugs, soft furnishings, and accessories. They can be booked together or separately.

One hour with Lindsey, in person or virtual. We walk through your vision, your space, your budget, and what's realistic. You leave with a clear direction and actionable next steps. The fee is credited toward Interior Design if you move forward.

You do, directly from the retailer. Voltera Designs specifies and sources everything — you receive exact product names, direct links, and model numbers. There's no middleman markup on product.

All services require a booking fee upfront to confirm your appointment and intent. It's non-refundable, and it's credited toward your total service cost.

50% is due at signing — this is when the project starts. 25% is due when construction begins. The final 25% is due on delivery once you're satisfied with the completed package.
